The Skeleton Crew Inside You

🔬 Science · 3 min read

You were born with about 300 bones, but adults have only 206. That is not because bones vanish some of them together as you grow.

Bones are not dry sticks. They are living with blood vessels inside, and they repair themselves when they crack.

The smallest bone in your body sits inside your ear and is about the size of a grain of rice. The longest is your the strong bone in your thigh.

Bones love two things: from foods like milk, beans, and leafy greens, and movement. Every time you run or jump, your bones get a little stronger.
