🔢 Counting and Number Order

Counting means saying numbers in order: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5… Each number is one more than the number before it.

We can count forwards (1, 2, 3) and backwards (5, 4, 3). Counting backwards helps with taking away.

Numbers can be put in order from smallest to biggest. 2 is smaller than 7, so 2 comes first.

Counting by 2s (2, 4, 6, 8) and by 10s (10, 20, 30) helps you count big groups quickly.
