🔤 Letter Sounds and Blending

Every letter makes a sound. Putting sounds together is called blending: c-a-t makes 'cat'.

Vowels are a, e, i, o and u. Every word needs at least one vowel sound.

Some sounds use two letters together, like 'sh' in ship and 'ch' in chair.

Rhyming words end with the same sound, like cat, hat and mat.
